Coronado Title Company provides title insurance and other real estate services through its affiliates. The three largest members of the Coronado Title Company family, Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company, Fidelity National Title Insurance Corporation, and Stewart Title Guarantee Company, and their title affiliates, issue title policies and handle real estate closings across the country. What kinds of information we collect
Depending on the services you use, the types of information we may collect from you, your lender, attorney, real estate broker, public records, or from other sources include:
- Information from forms and applications for services, such as your name, address, and telephone number.
- Information about your transaction, including information about the real property you bought, sold, or financed such as address, cost, existing liens, easements, other title information, and deeds.
- With closing, escrow, settlement, or mortgage lending services or mortgage loan servicing, we may also collect your social security number as well as information from third parties including property appraisals, credit reports, loan applications, land surveys, real estate tax information, escrow account balances, and sometimes bank account numbers or credit card account numbers to facilitate the transaction, and Information about your transactions and experiences as a customer of our affiliated companies, such as products or services purchased or ours and payments made.
How we use and disclose this information
We use your information to provide you with the services, products, and insurance that you, your lender, attorney, or real estate brokers have requested. We disclose information to our affiliates and unrelated companies as needed to carry out and service your transaction, to protect against fraud or unauthorized transactions, for institutional risk control, to provide information to government and law enforcement agencies, and as otherwise permitted by law. As required to facilitate a transaction, our title affiliates record documents that are part of your transaction in the public records as a legal requirement for real property notice purposes.
We do not share any nonpublic personal information we collect from you with unrelated companies for their own use.
We do not share any information regarding your transaction that we obtain from third parties (including credit report information) except as needed to enable your transaction as permitted by law.
We may also disclose your name, address, and property information to other companies who perform marketing services such as letter production and mailing on our behalf, or to other financial service companies (such as insurance companies, banks, mortgage brokers, credit companies) with whom we have joint marketing arrangements. Additionally, some Coronado Title Company affiliates may share information about their transaction and experiences with you in order to identify opportunities to market other Coronado Title Company services or products that may be useful to you.
How we protect your information
We maintain administrative, physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to guard your nonpublic personal information. We reinforce our privacy policy with our employees and our contractors. Coronado Title Company does not provide services to children and its websites are not intended for children. Coronado Title Company asks that minors not submit any personal information to Coronado Title Company. Non-Personal Identification Information Collection
While Coronado Title Company’s web servers automatically collect visitor domain names, they do not involuntarily collect personal identification information about visitors. The web servers gather information about the particulars of a visitor's visit through the Coronado Title Company website, such as the web page from which a visitor enters Coronado Title Company’s site, the pages within Coronado Title Company’s site visited, how long a visitor is on the site, and other such information that will help Coronado Title Company evaluate and improve its site.
Personal Identification Information Collection
When visitors voluntarily provide personal identification information to Coronado Title Company through the company's website, such as when ordering services/products and accessing account specific or other profile information, Coronado Title Company limits its use of such information to the purposes for which the information was provided. Internal Disclosure of Information
Coronado Title Company employees are permitted access to the information they require to perform their jobs and service customers. Co-Sponsors or Co-Branded Products/Services
If a visitor provides personal identification information to Coronado Title Company through a co-sponsored or co-branded site or feature, the visitor may also be providing the personal identification information to the co-sponsor. The visitor will be made aware of this before the visitor submits the information and the visitor can decide whether or not to participate. In the event the visitor submits the personal identification information, Coronado Title Company shall not be responsible for the use of such information by the co-sponsor.
Unsolicited Email
Coronado Title Company does not send unsolicited "junk" email (spam). However, the company does use email to communicate with customers and respond to visitor inquiries, confirm orders placed online, and send information requested by visitors through the company's website. Any visitors receiving unwanted email from Coronado Title Company should contact the company and advise of their desire not to receive future emails and/or request removal from Coronado Title Company’s email list. As soon as reasonable practicable, Coronado Title Company will remove such visitor from the company's email list.
